UK Data Protection Officer

Hatfield or Blackfriars - other locations considered + international travel

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a UK Data Protection Officer to support the Group Data Protection Officer. A perfect opportunity awaits for an ambitious individual with 1 - 3 years experience of data protection compliance.

Role Responsibility

In your new job as a UK Data Protection Manager you will utilise your experience of data protection to provide advice and guidance to the business in response to a wide range of enquiries, update and create data protection documentation, support the business processes for ensuring the rights of data subjects, completing records of processing and data protection impact assessments, supporting the companies response to security incidents involving personal data and delivering specific data protection projects across the Group of companies including staff training. You will be constantly required to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders at all business levels from different countries. You will need excellent communication skills, proficient IT skills including MS Office and be able to multi task to be able to manage a demanding workload in a prioritised way in this fast paced role.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience of data protection as a data protection analyst or a data protection manager in a smaller / less complex environment and looking for more responsibility
  • Values outputs over inputs and can take a pragmatic view of data protection compliance
  • Excellent understanding of data protection and data protections laws / regulations preferably in a multi-national organisation
  • Able to work autonomously but understand when to escalate issues to senior management
  • Have excellent organisation, planning and time management skills
  • The ability to build relationships
  • Resilient
