Technical Consultant - Messaging

Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a technical consultant to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding Messaging & Collaboration Consultancy Practice within Computacenter, with a strong focus on Microsoft traditional and Cloud Technologies including Office 365. The role will involve extensive travel throughout the UK. The Consultants will deliver Post Sales technical consultancy to our customers, undertaking delivery/implementation engagements, as well as providing assistance during Pre-sales qualification, providing bid response and also early design to consultancy engagements.

As a client facing consultant you need proven skills in implementing Microsoft traditional and cloud infrastructure platforms to either large scale private or public sector organisations.

Role Responsibility

  • Assist with qualification of designs and opportunities 
  • Produce / update all assignment documentation
  • Keep up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies
  • Attend Customer opportunity / strategy meetings, including presenting solutions from a commercial, technical and business perspective
  • Undertake individual consultancy assignments
  • Technically manage the design and implementation of solutions
  • Ensure consultancy assignments are undertaken consistently and with quality, using our formal methodologies
  • Attend and present at customer workshops and meetings
  • Identify other Computacenter service and sales opportunities
  • Build and enhance relationships with peers and Computacenter's sales force (Account Managers, Client Directors, Sales Specialists)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong proven Office 365 experience including Hybrid infrastructure design and Implementation/Migration
  • Proven enterprise scale design, implementation and configuration of Microsoft Exchange migrations including all versions from 2007 upwards with Enterprise MCITP or MCSE Messaging and foreign mail systems like Lotus Notes
  • Proven capability across the Office 365 workloads (including Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams)
  • Proven technical exposure with experience of being a subject matter expert (SME) in Microsoft messaging technologies
  • Experienced within the planning, design, migration, troubleshooting and remediation of complex messaging and migration solutions
  • Enterprise migration experience using both native and third party migration tools
  • Knowledge and experience of scripting for configuration, migration and reporting
  • Experience in the design, configuration and deployment of Microsoft Intune solutions
  • Strong documentation skills in creating high level and detailed design documentation
  • Experience within the administration, build and troubleshooting of Microsoft messaging solutions

  • Email and Identity skills to include:
  • Directory Synchronisation and Federation with Office 365
  • Quest, Binary Tree and Microsoft migration toolsets including PowerShell
  • Cloud based email archiving solutions
  • Enterprise Mobility Solutions
  • Design, configuration and deployment of non-email Office 365 services (OneDrive for Business, Yammer and SharePoint Online etc.)
