Technical Architect - UC

Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Messaging & Collaboration Technical Architect to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding Consultancy Practice within Computacenter. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate functional knowledge and technical expertise in the Microsoft Office 365 and on-premises Skype for Business solutions, with real-life experience of on-premises to cloud design, delivery and migration. Your role will be to promote innovative solutions to our customers, develop relationships with key customer stakeholders and to help them achieve their business goals.

The role will also include focusing on driving forward our market-leading propositions in business focused, cloud-enabled solutions, including Office 365 and most notably Microsoft Teams. You will provide internal and external strategy and thought leadership, supporting pre-sales for customer campaigns, bids, solutions and opportunities and ultimately helping our customers on their own cloud transformation journey.

You will be instrumental in assisting customers’ understanding of industry trends and our own capability, helping them achieve the maximum value from their IT investments, working with customers as a trusted advisor and assisting them in achieving their strategic goals from a cloud enablement and Office 365 perspective. You will also have the opportunity to work with some of Computacenter’s vendors and partners in the subject matter area to help (and support) with the continued development of our propositions around messaging & collaboration solutions.

Key to your success will be your broad range of long-standing and evidenced skills and experiences in designing end-to-end solutions, building teams and working closely with subject matter experts across all aspects of services and technology disciplines, and delivering technology solutions aligned to contracted services capabilities.

Role Responsibility

Main Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on the drivers for executing organisational change as well as adopting new technologies
  • Advise customers on the adoption of agile methods of delivery and the impact on IT operations
  • Develop close working relationships with key stakeholders in our clients’ organisation, becoming a trusted advisor to our customers
  • Lead, own and support the pre-sales and delivery assurance of Office 365 and on-premises messaging & collaboration solutions, including responses to large-scale and complex customer opportunities, including ITTs, RFPs and RFIs
  • Understand, define and present maturity models and roadmaps for customers’ cloud & Office 365; messaging & collaboration transformational activities
  • Collaborate with the sales, technical delivery and operational teams in the development of cloud & O365; messaging & collaboration engagements that meet customer requirements
  • Discover and analyse customers' IT operations and technical state and provide recommendations for improvement, formally as strategic roadmap services
  • Continually build and maintain effective relationships with internal and customer stakeholders, by demonstrating empathy, honesty and informed advice
  • Work with the services, marketing, and solutions teams on portfolio and product information launches including enablement and education for customers and employees
  • Develop future service offerings and value propositions to keep Computacenter relevant to the market
  • Using social media and other means of effective communication for Computacenter, Consultancy and self-marketing, raising awareness and profile, and thought leadership purposes

The Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive experience in IT consultancy and thought leadership including all aspects of design, delivery and business value definition
  • Exchange on-premises, hybrid and Exchange Online deployment and migration. Large scale migration experience including the use of third party vendor tools such as Binary Tree/Quest/AvePoint is essential
  • Enterprise telephony, voice Integration with Skype for Business and Teams, web conferencing and multi-vendor integration, including Microsoft Phone System and PSTN calling
  • Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams expertise
  • PowerApps and Workflow experience
  • SharePoint on-premises and SharePoint Online deployment expertise
  • Office 365 security and compliance expertise to include EM&S, RMS, Microsoft Security & Compliance including Azure Information Protection, DLP, ATP, Sentinel, EM+S and RMS
  • Identity Management (Active Directory, Directory Synchronisation, Azure Active Directory) expertise
  • Knowledge of network technologies, including enterprise QoS and Call admission control
  • Proven understanding and application of Consulting and Project Management frameworks, approaches and methodologies; industry recognised accreditations are a significant advantage
  • Expertise in defining, reviewing and managing technical requirements and business functional requirements with the ability to interpret customers' business and technical requirements into IT services and solutions
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management working with senior internal and customer executives
  • A proactive approach to building technical and professional relationships with customers, vendors, partners and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in business case development including aspects of business value-add and cost savings
  • Proven experience in creating services cost models with appropriate cost levers and the associated quality assurance/governance
  • High standards of quality in documentation skills and presentation experience with mid to large-sized internal and external audiences
  • Understanding of and ability to articulate industry trends and potential future directions
  • Understanding, adoption and enforcement of corporate governance and assurance policies and processes
