Senior Third Line Wintel/Virtualisation Analyst

Job Introduction

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at one of Europe’s leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services. We are looking for an experienced Third Line Analyst who will join a large team supporting diverse and geographically spread Wintel/Virtualisation customer environments. This role will be primarily focused on delivering a Project services on a client site in New Malden

Role Responsibility

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Designing, developing and deploying of technologies on Windows Platforms
  • Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp Projects
  • Assessing technical requirements and providing sustainable solutions
  • Attending technical review meetings and reviewing proposed changes
  • Service Acceptance
  • Working to SLA’s and deadlines
  • Review of services and application delivery
  • Prioritising and managing several tasks at a single time
  • Establishing a good working relationship with wider teams and customers alike
  • Keep up to date with advancements in technology
  • Working closely with the customer to attain a detailed understanding of their requirements
  • Offering solutions and workarounds to new incidents/problems


Key Requirements

The Candidate should have experience in the following:

  • Designing, developing and deploying of technologies on Windows Platforms
  • Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp Projects
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012, including clustering
  • Strong skills in Active Directory: ADFS, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Domains, Forrest, Domain Controller Roles, DNS, Permission Models, Delegation, Trust relationships, LDAP/ADSI, Kerberos and Schemas
  • Cloud Computing – Azure AD Connect, AD Sync
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Understands the interdependency between Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
  • PKI and Certificate Management
  • Microsoft Forefront suite (FIM/MIM)
  • Hyper-V
  • VMWare
  • Citrix XenServer
  • Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop
  • Anti-virus technologies (SEP, SCEP, SPE McAfee)
  • Server Hardware including Cisco UCS
  • Strong skills in scripting (PowerShell)
  • Extensive involvement in the writing of detailed designs, supporting documentation and training collateral for other supporting teams

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Managed Services as a Senior Analyst, providing specialised support and project delivery across Windows Server infrastructures. This should also include in-depth working knowledge of Virtualisation based technologies, both Platform and Workplace based. The ideal candidate should be a VMWare Certified Professional (VCP 6 minimum) and Microsoft Active Directory 2008 certified. They should possess excellent troubleshooting skills and have the ability to make key technical decisions on their own accord. Excellent communication skills, both face to face and on the telephone, whilst having the ability to assess and prioritise tasks without close supervision is essential. The role will involve being part of a Project Management Office who will rely on this individual for making key technical decisions, so a person who can challenges ideas and be solution-oriented is a must.
