Our Group Information Systems function deliver, manage and maintain systems that support Computacenter’s business. This includes our IT Infrastructure (Network, Compute and Storage, Messaging and Collaboration, Datacentres, Internet) and our core applications.

The infrastructure provisioning area of our business is responsible for the design, delivery and documentation of new infrastructure services, as well as delivering standard requests.
This is a challenging environment, in summary we deliver services across the Computacenter Group to >15,000 colleagues with a team of 8 architects. The infrastructure footprint comprises 2,200+ servers across 4 Datacentre and numerous branches and customer sites.
The Infrastructure Delivery Manager is responsible for managing the project pipeline from design to delivery, ensuring that the many multiple demand streams are actively managed and prioritised appropriately. The role includes line management of, and technical support to the members of the team, as well as implementation of improvement opportunities, and ongoing process development. Supervisory responsibility includes: resource planning and management, interviewing and hiring decisions, annual reviews, technical support and ongoing technical team development. You will also be responsible for the validation of services which includes reviewing the feasibility of intended services and the confirmation that proposed designs meet agreed standards.
Some of the main responsibilities will include:
- Manage systems that support >15,000 internal colleagues across Server, O/S, Storage and Load balance technologies
- Hands-on matrix management of two teams designing and delivering central infrastructure services
- Represent the technical division at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
- Provide technical consultancy and delivery resources to support business and internal Project teams
- Attend project steering meetings and provide technical feasibility/requirements
- Collaborate across diverse Technical Teams to ensure effective solutions delivery
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who can live up to our reputation for delivering on promises – someone who has good understanding and experience in provisioning and troubleshooting datacentre technologies including compute, storage and middleware (SAP, SQL, ORACLE).
Experience working with and provisioning to third party suppliers, proven analysis skills, critical and creative thinking, ability to separate and troubleshoot technologies.
Strong Project organisation skills, coupled with experience of directing technical teams to deliver.
This is a busy and challenging environment so proven experience of working independently, and effectively is required.
