Graduate Project Manager

Job Introduction

An 18 month intensive programme which is structured with personal and technical development, rotations around our different business areas and on the job learning through working on projects for our customers. As part of your professional development we’ll support and invest in you to achieve your PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification. You’ll receive continual support from your manager and buddy. We’ll make sure that you’re getting the most out of the programme by having regular reviews of your progress throughout your time at Computacenter.

Role Responsibility

Project Management

  • Working alongside our experienced Project Coordinators and Project Managers on customer sites
  • Learning about our project lifecycle and tools and putting this into practice
  • Producing required project documentation to deliver successful project outcomes
  • Producing management reports through relevant tools to provide up to date information on progress
  • Coordinating and planning resource requirements to make sure work deadlines are achieved
  • Delivering profitable projects
  • Providing excellent customer service through the successful delivery of projects

Business Understanding

  • Rotating around our business on placements to learn about how we operate and how these departments engage with our Project Managers
  • Rotations will be structured to expose you to a variety of departments and perspectives
  • Exposure to our pre-sales and bid processes

Relationships & Networking

  • Building and developing strong relationships both internally and externally in order to achieve your objectives

Continual development

  • Focussing and monitoring of your development through your personal development plan
  • Working through a combination of training and development activities to enhance your professional and project management skills

The Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 2:1 degree or above from any discipline
  • You’ve graduated in the last two years
  • This is a national role so you’ll need to hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel across the UK. It’s likely that the first three months of the programme will take place across our offices in the South East
  • Motivated, proactive and a self-starter
  • Effective and clear communicator
  • Ability to prioritise and operate in a rapid business and change environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to challenge and put forward new ideas
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Language skills are desirable but not essential
