Technical Resource Group (TRG) are the front line engineers. The face of Computacenter. We are the technical staff that enable the users of our customers by owning and resolving their IT issues. We have engineers that simply enjoy being hands on and fixing issues and but we also have a track record of developing our engineers into consultancy, global infrastructure, service manager and project manager roles.
In this role you will be responsible for providing advanced level support and troubleshooting services in the Wintel environment as well as offering simple fixes and fixing known errors. As a Customer Engineer you will be hardware skilled and accredited through the appropriate core vendor training programs to provide desktop, laptop, printer break-fix and support users with their WIFI and basic network connectivity issues.
Typically you will provide software installations and configuration in an existing desktop infrastructure or pre-designed project and will be familiar with current Microsoft desktop Operating Systems, Windows 10 & Office 365.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role you will have...
- Previous experience in a Desktop support role in a Wintel environment.
- Tech bar or Deskside support experience.
- A driving license
- Great time management and organizational skills
- excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users
You will also be able to work in shifts and cover on call duties if required as well as go through various vetting processes and security clearances.
